How to play Sudoku

Fill the 9x9 grid so every row, every column and every 3x3 box contains the digits 1 to 9 exactly once. Pick a difficulty from Easy to Expert, tap a cell and enter a number - mistakes are limited to three, so check the row, column and box before you commit. Every Skorven Sudoku board is generated with a unique solution, and the daily puzzle is the same seeded board for every player in the world.

Tips & strategy

• Start with scanning: find rows, columns or boxes that already hold seven or eight digits and fill the missing ones first.
• Use pencil notes (N key) to mark candidates in empty cells - when a cell has only one candidate left, it is safe to place.
• Save hints for genuine dead ends; finishing fast with no hints and no mistakes maximises your score and stars.
