Skorven Blog

Guides, strategy and the occasional argument about what makes a puzzle good. Everything here is written by the people who build the games, so the strategy posts come from having solved these boards a few hundred times more than is healthy.

There are two kinds of post below. The guides go deep on one game — the patterns worth learning, the mistakes that cost you stars, the logic that turns a board from impossible into obvious. The round-ups are broader: what is worth playing in a category, and why. No sponsored placements and no affiliate links, because there is nothing here to sell.

What we write about

Most posts start from a question a player actually asked. "Why does this Loop Maze board have no solution?" turned into a full guide on parity and corner logic — the board did have a solution, and the reason it looked impossible is a genuinely interesting property of Hamiltonian cycles on a grid. That is the kind of thing worth 2,000 words.

We also write about the daily-puzzle habit itself, because it is the format that has quietly taken over casual gaming and it deserves better analysis than "it is like Wordle". A shared daily board changes how people play: it removes the grind, makes results comparable, and turns a solitary puzzle into something you can talk about. Several of our games are built around that idea, so we think about it a lot.

If there is something you would like covered — a game you are stuck on, a mechanic you want explained, a category you think we have missed — send it over. Player questions are where most of these came from in the first place.
