How to play Gridlox

Drag pieces from the tray onto the 8×8 board. Fill a complete row or column to clear it — blocks stay exactly where you put them, there is no gravity and no timer. You always hold three pieces; fresh ones arrive when all three are placed. The run ends when no remaining piece fits anywhere. If you enjoy Block Blast or 1010!-style block puzzles, Gridlox is Skorven’s free browser take on the genre — no download, no ads between rounds.

Tips & strategy

  • Keep a home for the 3×3 square — it ends more runs than any other piece. Never let the board reach a state where only scattered singles fit.
  • Clear lines on consecutive placements to build the combo multiplier; a double or triple clear with one piece is worth far more than two separate singles.
  • Work from the edges inward and avoid checkerboard holes — isolated single gaps can only be filled by 1×1 pieces.
